How do you create a working life that uses the best of you?
By first understanding your own unique wisdom, then applying it in a role that connects with your personal sense of purpose.
For me, this means doing something that makes a difference to people’s lives. I’m intrigued by people - and I thrive when I’m working with wise leaders of people and ideas to make change happen for them.
I’m guided by the rich life experiences I’ve had; whether it was leading teams in the commercial world, five years of coaching and consulting in the global melting pot of the London School of Economics or a decade spent running my own business. Every assignment has been a chance to apply what I learned during my masters in occupational psychology and witness first-hand how organisations thrive. Through all this, it’s been clear that in any situation, wisdom and self-awareness are a proven route to success.
Over the past 10 years, I’ve worked with more than 400 individuals as they make positive changes in their careers. And I’ve supported 43 organisations to coach their leaders and develop their teams. Many of my clients have been working with me since 2008, and come from a wide range of sectors including FTSE 100 firms, higher education, technology, central government, communications, start ups, and not-for-profits.
I live in London with my partner William, a strategic adviser in biodiversity and conservation, and have three wonderful daughters. For me, trying to be wiser is about cultivating perspective, taking the time to build meaningful relationships and reflecting on what it means to live well. What does it mean to you?
